Sustainability

Kibre respects the world’s environment, natural resources, and the needs of the current and future population and we are now putting sustainability at the forefront of all our business actions. Nature and the environment are not an inexhaustible resource so they must be protected and used rationally.

Kibre promises to act in the present while thinking about the future.

What are we doing to make a difference

We have dedicated a huge amount of time and effort in to identifying ways in which we can change the way we operate as a business, and develop our furniture solutions, so that we are more considerate of our environment.

With climate change the number one talking point across the globe, it is more important than ever before that we all work together to try and make a difference and we believe that with our clients support we can find solutions to make a real difference.

Sustainability has always been an important factor to us at Kibre when considering the selection and manufacturing of our furnishings, but we are now stepping it up several gears.

Kibre is an ISO14001 certified company, which is the international accreditation for Environmental Management. This puts sustainability at the forefront of our business making us accountable for our impact on the planet.

We are also part of Carbon Neutral Britain, who calculate our carbon footprint so that we can offset it through a variety of initiatives.

We recycle any waste we generate that can be reprocessed and work with a fully certified Waste Management companies who report on all of our waste removal activity.

We work closely with the Reuse Network and Furniture Link, among other organisations, and donate furniture to local charities throughout the UK.

FF&E sourcing and manufacturing

We believe sustainability is more than just the products we use in the manufacturing process. We believe in quality, longevity and the impact on people and our surroundings.

We only provide quality furnishings made by reputable factories and in doing so we increase the durability and life span of those items. As we specialise in designing and manufacturing bespoke furniture, it is also possible to design with replaceable component parts in mind to further extend the lifespan of our furnishings.

We carefully source products from reputable suppliers and manufacturers, who are actively demonstrating their own sustainability goals.

All of our mattresses, beds and sofas are manufactured in the UK, hugely reducing transport associated carbon emissions but also supporting local manufacturing. Where possible we source and manufacture other goods through our European network of factories to further control our carbon emissions.

Our mattresses are made using recycled materials and can be fully recycled at the end of their lifespan. All timber is FSC certified and ethically sourced. Any painted finishes are non chemical. Where at all possible we seek to use recyclable materials in the production of good.

On the whole the packaging now being used by our core network of suppliers and manufacturers is 100% recyclable.
